Did you know we have been the fiscal administrator for the benefit matching program at Mountain Fresh Farmers Market since the program began? Customers can swipe their SNAP/EBT card at the market table and we’ll match the value 1:1 up to $20 per person per day. We also match Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits and WIC Fruit & Vegetable benefits. For example, if a customer swipes their SNAP card for $20, they get $20 in SNAP tokens and another $20 in Matching tokens!

We also work with Garrett County Community Action’s Senior Services to administer the senior “Market Bucks” program, allowing our most vulnerable seniors to purchase fresh foods at the markets as well.

We’re proud to work to help encourage healthy eating by our community’s vulnerable population, and in doing so, support our local farms.

If you’re at the Mt. Fresh market in Oakland, stop by Danny’s table to swipe your card (they accept debit and credit as well) to get tokens to spend with all the vendors at the market.

We are in need of additional matching funding. If you’re able to gift any amount, 100% of it will go to the matching of benefits at the market! You can use the form below or mail donation checks to: Barn Quilt Association of Garrett County, 1916 Maryland Hwy, Suite A, Oakland, MD 21550.
